5X5 Dance Festival At St. Joseph Oct.23
St. Joseph College presents its Seventh Annual 5X5 Dance Festival, which features 17 professional and college troupes, master classes and dance photography by Arthur Fink.
A collegiate showcase is Friday at 7 p.m. featuring choreography from St. Joseph College, Eastern Connecticut State University, Trinity College, Connecticut College, Naugatuck Valley Community College and Central Connecticut State University.
The event will include professional dancers from Dance Connect, Full Force and Tellum-Clark Dance Theatre. Aparna Dinhoor Dance Theatre will perform Indian dances.
The professional showcase is Saturday at 7 p.m. featuring premiere works from Adele Myers and Dancers, DancEnlight, James Robey Dance Company, Roman Baca, Scapegoat Garden, Soma Dance Company and Tony Olivares. Jill Henderson of the Connecticut Dance Alliance will speak.
The college is at 1678 Asylum Ave. in West Hartford. Tickets: in advance are $22, $17 seniors, $7 children. Add $5 on the day of the event. Details: tickets@sjc.edu or 860-231-5555.
